Engagement Process
The engagement follows a six-step sequence from workflow selection through delivery and post-delivery clarification.
01 | Workflow Selection
The workflow that is causing the most operational friction or dependency risk within your team is identified. This workflow becomes the focus of the engagement.
02 | The Pillar Audit™
Participants complete an audit capturing how work moves through the selected workflow, with an emphasis on key person dependencies and execution constraints.
03 | Dependency Mapping
The workflow is mapped to visualize how work progresses end-to-end, identifying where dependencies and bottlenecks occur in practice.
04 | Analysis & Diagnosis
The workflow is analyzed to diagnose structural causes of friction, focusing on key person dependencies, workflow design issues, and breakdowns in execution continuity.
05 | The Operations Blueprint™
You receive the Operations Blueprint, which specifies workflow structure, key bottlenecks, dependency risks, and prioritized recommendations.
06 | Post-Delivery Clarification Window
After delivery of the Operations Blueprint, a clarification window of 10 business days is provided to ensure the Blueprint is fully understood and actionable for you and your team.
If your team requires ongoing guidance beyond the 10 business day window, you may retain Blueprint & Pillar for asynchronous advisory on a monthly basis.
Engagement Structure
Engagement Fit
Blueprint & Pillar works with teams where execution is dependent on key people rather than structured systems. This includes dynamics where progress slows when key people are unavailable or critical knowledge is concentrated within a few people. The engagement is best suited for growing teams that have outgrown informal processes but have not yet established scalable operational systems.
Engagement Exclusions
Blueprint & Pillar is not a good fit for teams seeking fractional COO services, hands-on implementation support, or synchronous advisory engagements. It is also not ideal for early-stage teams still forming core processes or highly efficient teams with no significant operational constraints.
Communication Model
The engagement operates on an asynchronous model to reduce scheduling bottlenecks and maintain precise documentation. Communication occurs through the Pillar Audit and email. No calls or meetings are required.
Calls and meetings are not part of the standard engagement workflow. In rare circumstances, a brief call may be scheduled if written communication is insufficient to resolve an issue.
Pillar Audit Timeline
The Pillar Audit is designed to take approximately 25–45 minutes per participant depending on workflow complexity. All participants are required to complete the audit within 10 business days.
Delivery Timeline
The Operations Blueprint is typically delivered within 4–6 weeks from the audit completion date, depending on participant availability and workflow complexity.
Blueprint Review (Optional)
For teams requiring an updated Blueprint, Blueprint & Pillar offers an optional Blueprint Review focused on monitoring key person dependencies and execution constraints as your team grows over time.
Implementation Scope
Blueprint & Pillar does not implement the recommendations contained in the Operations Blueprint. The recommendations are designed to be directly actionable by your team.
Investment
Investment for the Operations Blueprint is fixed-fee and determined during the engagement inquiry phase. Engagements typically range from $15,000–$30,000 depending on workflow complexity.
